Our journey so far.

The First day our group was decided. We spent this day, looking at music videos for inspiration as you can see taking notes. We then shared different songs to create a shortlist, we arranged this by having 3 songs each we shared with the group, out of each individuals songs, the rest of the group selected one, then we had a shortlist of four. Then we listened to the four songs, visualising a music video concept, and taking notes. Once we shared the notes we decided what song had the most potential.

After we had decided the song, Emeli Sande 'Heaven' We spent time drafting our concepts, this included creating the artist image, therefore we done mood boards of the styling, then locations for filming hence we done a mood board for that too, once the concept was decided on (keeping the artist within East London, with a religious motif) we were able to start on our story board.

We then created an animatic, presenting the test shots and for our knowledge of how the final music video would come together.

After the planning we were asked to pitch our ideas to the class, this is done in the working world of the music industrial all the time, this is called the proposal. This is the stage where you suggest your ideas, to  a board and they will feedback on the concept and decide weather it is acceptable.

Finally once all the preparation was done- planning costumes, planning editing, locations, filming and so on, it was vital to go and film our footage in order to have a music video. Filming was a success, yet we went back and fourth on ideas, this was apart of experimenting to see what works.

Now we are currently working on the editing, here is a picture of us putting the footage on to the Macs, into Final Cut Pro and beginning the editing. So far we have created a timeline of our footage, put the music in sync with the footage and experimented with filters and contrast. Editing is going well.. and that's a quick summary of our journey up to now.
