Ancillary Product: Introduction.

Statistics show that overall artists make the most out of merchandise, instead of the music. Due to an increasing
rise in illegal downloads and music being available at the touch of button due to youtube. So they have found that one way round this is through ancillary products, so anything the artist gives there name to and supports them.


Adding pictures or a free T-shirt when someone buys and album increases the sales. So this is very important for me while i am deciding how to design my digipak.




Some products include:

Products are important and promote you to a larger audience. For example if you see someone wearing an artists top that promotes them. It promotes the artists identity and people will buy them if they like the artist, at concerts or on there website. Products can be limited edition to hurry up people buying it or to push up the price.
